Source Tagging Guidelines |
|
To protect customers from unwanted alarms and thereby to improve customer-friendliness in stores, the Dutch Platform detailhandel, Nedap Retail Support and three other large suppliers of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems signed the new and improved source-tagging guidelines on Wednesday October 4th 2006.
Nedap's source-tagging solution, EASi/Tagging, fully complies with the new source-tagging guidelines. Also Nedap EAS systems are designed to function according to these guidelines: Nedap EAS systems are capable of determining whether customer friendliness in stores meets the pre-determined level. Nedap adds an extra dimension to the new source-tagging guidelines by measuring the following aspects of EAS: - The amount of incoming and outgoing EAS alarms in stores
- The pre-determined tagging level of products
- The deactivation sensibility of security labels
- The quality of applied security labels
- EAS system uptime
Periodically, Nedap along with the other parties involved, reviews the pre-determined figures and decides what actions should be taken.
